The Northumberland Photography Club was formed to provide an opportunity for members of the community with a wide range of experience and interest to come together regularly to share, learn, and develop photographic skills in an environment that is mutually supportive and committed to exploring the creative and documentary potential of photography.

First Monday of every month, September through June (Except deferred a week for holidays)

At 7:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church Gymnasium, 59 Ballantine Street, Cobourg, Ontario.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for coffee.


Regular meetings are held the Salvation Army Church Gym, 59 Ballantine Street, Cobourg, 2nd Monday in September and the first Monday from October to June at 7:00 p.m.  Door opens at 6:30pm for coffee and socializing. Meetings include a break and finish around 9:30pm.

  Regular Membership  $50 per year - September to August
  Half Year Membership (New first time members only) $25 per year - February to August
  Full-time Student $25 per year
  Meeting - non-member $10 (no other member benefits)

Joining and renewing Membership

To join, come to any meeting and if you like what you see, you can sign up on the spot!  Or, contact our membership director; see our Contact page.  If you are an existing member, you can also renew online - details on the Contact page.

Member Benefits

  • Social contact with other photographers. Meetings include time for social contact - swap notes, ideas; help others and learn yourself.
  • Annual Exhibition. Each year the club holds an exhibition of about 50 member photos at a public venue.
  • Outings. Join other members on trips/visits to photogenic locations. More here.
  • Meetings All our meetings are an opportunity to learn more about photography. Many have knowledgeable speakers.
  • First access to special events – usually held annually in April/May.
  • Members gallery Members can have 8 of their photos featured on our members gallery. Provide 8 photos via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or on a CD/DVD/USB stick to John Draper at a meeting. Photos should be at least 400 pixels in their largest dimension and with high quality jpg compression. If you don’t know how to do this, just provide photos in the best quality you have and they will be adjusted for the web site. Please give each photo a title and if you want, also add technical info like camera make and model, shutter speed etc. A short bio is also good. Have a look at the photos already online. You need to be a current member to have your photos on the site.
